The Perfect Day

Image
The Perfect Day    By Danny C. Wash Yesterday was a perfect day because everything was the same. Yesterday began with me arising at the same time as always. I took a shower and then tried to make my face and head look acceptable. I dressed in the same boring clothes, I alternatively wear day after perfect day. I brewed a cup of coffee and fed the dogs, who did what they always do. Out they went to do their tasks in the back yard before returning to sleep more. I read the paper to see who I knew may have passed on to the great beyond and who may have excelled or found themselves in some sort of trouble. I got in the car, placed the key in the ignition, and started the engine; as usual. And away I went to my office where I perform the same tasks everyday.  After a day at my work doing the same boring and plain tasks daily, I returned to my car, placed the key in the ignition, and it started just like the hundreds of days before. I drove the same route home by which I came. I pulled into

I Wish I Had a Sister

I Wish I Had a Sister     by Danny C. Wash I wish I had a big sister, one who would be all mine. One who would be very close and hug me, that would be so fine. She would whisper,“I love you the most” but would correct, yet never gripe or whine. If I had a sister, I would certainly love her like a brother or a mother or a father. Sisters have wonderful information because they know about women and can help us men understand their mysterious ways. If I had a sister, I think I would be a better man now because of her influence on me. Sisters are very important and I believe I have a hole in my soul that will never be filled, since I never had a sister. You men who have one should be thankful for that great treasure. A sister is a gift from God beyond all measure.

The Testimony of the New Race in Jesus Christ

The Testimony of the New Race in Jesus Christ by Danny C. Wash                                                                                                                                                                           “... if anyone is in Christ,  this person is  a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.   Now all  these  things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,   namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their wrongdoings against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation .” 2Corinthians 5:17-21. “[God] sent his own Son [Jesus] in a body like the bodies we sinners have [except without sin or the sin nature]. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow

The Body

Image
The Body      by Danny C. Wash “The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.....we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit. Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part. If the foot says, “I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,” that does not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear says, “I am not part of the body because I am not an eye,” would that make it any less a part of the body?.... But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it ....In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary. And the parts we regard as less honorable are those we clothe with the greatest care. So we carefully protect those parts that should not be seen, while the more honorable parts do not require this special care. So God has put the body together such that extra honor and

Down the Road (A Song)

Image
Down the Road (A Song) by Danny C. Wash It’s time to go; It’s time to go. Where we are going, we do not know. Down the road we let it flow. Down the road for a day or so. The sun is above and the skies are clear, away we go on the road without fear. Down the road we let it flow. Down the road for a day or so. Making good time on this road to anywhere, we’re singing a song with the wind in our hair. Down the road we let it flow. Down the road for a day or so. The day is whizzing by as we drive so fast, wondering how much longer this fun can last. Down the road we let it flow. Down the road for a day or so. Sunset is ahead as we slow our car. I think we have maybe gone too far. Down the road we let it flow. Down the road no further we go.

The Feather

The Feather       by  Danny  C. Wash                                                                                                                                                                                  I saw a feather floating in the air “as light as a feather,” as they say. It drifted slowly from somewhere and I knew a bird was around today. The feather tells me it was from a dove, reminding me when I send a prayer away, upward it floats into the heavens above to the throne of the One to whom we pray and like a dove the Spirit descends in love with the answer from the throne of “yea or nay.”  Or, perhaps the answer of “not yet, my beloved.”

The Me Tree

The Me Tree                                                        by Danny C. Wash As my old age is now catching up with me, I believe my body is becoming more like a tree. I have spots, holes & bumps where none used to be. Also, I seem to be growing bark in places all over me. My old limbs are beginning to slowly shrink and my middle trunk is expanding more I think. Fall and then winter are fast on the way. I wonder if I still have much longer to stay until my leaves and trunk have gone away. But the spring will still come eventually and new life will spring forth from my roots and will live as new and growing young shoots until they grow into mighty trees in my place to carry on and live their lives in my old space.
