“Cursed is the ground because of you...it will produce thorns and thistles for you.” Genesis 3:17-18

“And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand; and they knelt down before Him and mocked Him, saying, ‘Hail, King of the Jews!’Matthew 27:29

“unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces much grain.” John 12:24

When Adam sinned, a terrible curse fell

upon the ground to produce thistles & thorns,

which were painful pricking plants from hell

bringing forth the crown of thorns by Jesus worn,

while struggling to the cross and stumbling fell.

Soldiers had woven this cursed thorn crown for Him

bearing the twisted thorns as the symbol of our sin.

The soldiers by placing the crown on Him were mocking

Jesus, but He was taking on His head the symbol of the curse

first caused by the original sin of Adam being the thorns.

He did this to identify with all sinful people at our worst

to suffer and die for us and thereby receive the full scorn

of punishment, pain, and death that we all deserve, to atone

for all to satisfy God’s wrath against our sin, for Him to find rest.

After the death of Jesus on the cross and having passed the test

as being the kernel of wheat sown in the ground to produce

much wheat, which are the new believers born from above

by faith in Jesus Christ as a new race because of His labor of love;

Jesus rose from the tomb in His resurrected body of flesh and bone,

met His disciples, then ascended into Heaven to sit on His throne,

being glorified & sending forth the Holy Spirit into our spirits to live

providing Christ's power & love to us so we could to the world so give.
