Sentence of Death or Life

[Paul speaking]:“...we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life; indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead; who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us...” 2Corinthians 1:8-10

The tragic sentence of death by Adam’s sin,

we humans were given at birth to begin

our lives on this earth to exist within

a hundred years or so for our life to live

and use what we receive and what we can give.

Our life faces many important choices to make,

which one of two roads we encounter to take

to the right hand or left, which way to go,

but we have guides to help say yes or no.

These are a Person and Book to help us know

how to build this life firm on a solid Rock,

so that when the storms of life may us shock

we will endure the winds as they do blow

and at the end we may smile and then know

that our life had meaning and left a mark

to be seen of life, love, light and not of the dark.

Even if by Adam’s sentence we must on earth die,

we can then live eternally by God’s life He will supply,

through faith in His Son, if into us we will Him admit

and then the eternal death sentence He will aquit,

and grant to us the right to live with Him in glory

because of the Gospel of Christ, the old old story.

Wash                                                  “ The mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations; but has now been manifested to  His saints.” Colossians 1:26 What is God’s mystery?  A mystery is a secret, an unknown thing. Something that is not easily understood. But, God’s mystery has now been revealed to  anyone who will ask, seek, and knock, as Jesus  has said. God’s mystery is, Christ in you, the hope  of glory and you complete in Christ. This secret was  hidden from the past generations before the cross  and the victory of the resurrection. The demons did not know the secret, so they participated unknowingly  in the revealing of the secret by nailing Jesus to the  cross thinking they had the victory only to be defeated  on the third day in the resurrection of Jesus.
